Prayer for the Day

Friday, 10 April 2020

Almighty Father, look with mercy on this your family for which our Lord Jesus Christ was content to be betrayed and given up into the hands of sinners and to suffer death upon the cross;
who is alive and glorified with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

A prayer for all those affected by coronavirus.

Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may find comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.Under Construction

Prayer of Week

Kindly provided by Irmela

Heavenly Father, shelter and protect us at this difficult time.

May we focus on what belonging to You really means to us.

As we think of friends, family and all those we pray for we feel secure that we are enclosed with them in Your circle of love.

This Holy Week we pray that we can create a precious time in which we will find creative ways to follow Jesus to the cross.

Holy Spirit guide your family of All Saints

to walk the way of Jesus, now and always, Amen.

Intercessions

A prayer concerning the Coronavirus

Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen

An act of spiritual Communion

 My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.   For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Pray for our nation and your neighbours

Prayer for a Pandemic – By Cameron Bellm (ERMC ordinand)

May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those that have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country,
let us choose love.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,
Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbours.
Amen.
